As a teenager Damon learned the art of woodcraft in his father’s woodcraft shop. And later studied woodwork and industrial arts at various colleges, in Los Angeles.
In 2004 Damon created his first custom beach cruiser bicycle, the “Classic Woody,” using a pre-made frame, recycled parts and applying his skills as a fine wood craftsman. The bike was a hit on the Venice Beach boardwalk and Damon was inspired to create more theme-driven bikes.
In the 2005~2006 Venice Beach Custom Bicycle Show's, Damon’s “Classic Woody”, “Penny Farthing” and “Four Wheeler” bikes won awards in the custom, vintage custom and super custom categories. Damon’s entire set of Nomad Cruiser© bikes won Best of Show at the First Annual Venice Custom Bicycle Show.
Building on the success of the Nomad Cruiser, Damon challenged his self to grow as an artist, by creating new works of art. Damon meets if not exceeds this challege by recreating America's first vehicle the wagon, except you don't need horse power to drive his wagon. That is because his self powered wagon is a actually a bike.
Continuating on his journey of innovative craftmanship, he created the Nomad Skateboard. Uniquely different from any other skateboard each Nomad Skateboard is handcrafted with the beauty of different various kinds of classic wood for that unique work of art design style.
